Display data in Datatable filtered by gallery selection and multiple Ifs

Hello!! 

Ok, here's what I want to do and I don't know how to do it.

Table1 lists the following headings:

Email, Manager Email, Level 3 Email, Level 4 Email, Level 5 Email, Level 6 Email, Function Lead email, Level 

The column Level tells me what level they are.  So, if someone is Level 3, the columns would look like this:

Email: User.Email@company.com

Manager: Manager.EMail@Company.com

Level 3: CEO.Email@Company.com

Level 4: Blank

Level 5: Blank

Level 6: Blank

Function Lead email: Manager.Email@company.com

Level: Level 3

My goal is to be able to put in a manager's name and see all people who are in the reporting chain.  If someone is a Level 3, this is easy because they're one level from the CEO.  I can filter the data by manager and see them and their peers.

Now, let's say I want to see the entire reporting line down to Level 6.  How do I filter the DataTable to see that there are people who report to that Exec all the way to level 6?  I'm essentially asking the data to find anyone in columns Level 3 - Level 6 who has the C-Level person listed.  

How the heck do I filter the data table to show all of that?

Perhaps it is an option for you to use the GetManagerV2 function, provided by the Office 365 Users connector:

Thank you, @BCBuizer , but I'm afraid that won't really help.  What I need, I think, is some sort of IF statement that tells the system to look at what Level the employee is and then look for the corresponding column for the manager there.  I think that would do it, but I just don't know how to do that.

Any ideas?

Thank! My earlier assumption was that you are using AAD, so this explains things.

Does the list record who's a person's manager? If so, you can build some kind of recursion to populate all the fields.

@BCBuizer Yep!  I have a column for the manager, but then I also have columns for the manager's manager, etc.  I've listed what level each employee is (Level 4, Level 6, etc.) and then have corresponding columns that lay out all the managers.  So, if someone was level six, they would have:

Column- Employee Email: Email Address

Column- Manager Email: Email Address

Column- Level 3: Email Address

Column- Level 4: Email Address

Column- Level 5: Email Address

Column- Level 6: Email Address

But, if someone is Level 3, they'll have:

Column- Employee Email: Email Address

Column- Manager Email: Email Address

Column- Level 3: Email Address

Column- Level 4: blank

Column- Level 5: blank

Column- Level 6: blank

What I need to be able to do is have the Power Apps show me all of the employees under a specific leader.  So, if the leader is a Level 4 leader, they'll have one or two levels of employees underneath them and I need to see the data for all of them.  If the leader is a Level 2 leader, they'll have many more levels of employees and I need to see the data for all of those employees.

I can imagine a combobox where you can select a person.

Under that you can have a horizontal gallery with the below formula for the Items property:

Filter(
   DataSourceName,
   'Manager Email' = Combobox1.Selected.'Employee Email'
)

Then add a label to the gallery that shows ThisItem.'Empoyee Email' and also add a nested vertical gallery with the below Items property:

Filter(
   DataSourceName,
   'Manager Email' = ThisItem.'Employee Email'
)

Finally add a label to the nested gallery to show ThisItem.'Empoyee Email'.

Thank you @BCBuizer.  I appreciate you trying.  That won't quite get at what I'm trying to do, but I'll try to play around with some stuff and see what I can get!
