Display results from search against two lists for a single screen

Hello,

Very new to Power Apps and struggling to articulate the issue to search.

List 1: Project Catalogue

List 2: Project Status

List 3 Project Dates

Using the auto generate I have BrowseScreen1 which shows all the entries in List 1. By typing the search box the rows are updated based on the search box. I can then click the chevron and I will go to DetailScreen1 which has a Detail Form using the selection from the BrowseGallery1 which uses a filter referencing List2 (See below). I would like to have a second DetailForm filtered by the same criteria but pulling in the information from list 3. I can not see how I would update the expression to either filter list 3 as I can not come up with a way to include List 3 in the expression as well.

BrowseGallery1 expression

Sort By Columns(Filter([@'Project Status'], Starts With(Project.Value, Text Search Box1.Text)), "Title", If(Sort Descending1, Descending, Ascending))

I hope I have been clear, thank you

You can use that formula for an Items property of a Gallery, but not for a form as it returns a table.

Are you trying to create another "BrowseScreen/List" or a DetailForm?  If Detail form...then what is the relationship (record to record, not record to table) for the second list?

If it is for a Gallery, then your formula is fairly close:

SortByColumns(
    Filter('Project Status', StartsWith(Project.Value, 'Text Search Box1'.Text)),
    "Title",
    If(Sort Descending1, Descending, Ascending)
)

I hope this is helpful for you.

Hello Randy, I have attached an image which I hope explains what I am trying to do. I have two screens one showing the high level details and then when one of the projects are selected I would like to go to the second screen which shows the details from two other lists based on the selection. Is a gallery the way to go and would it allow two lists to show based on the selection from the first screen. The relationship on list 2 and list 3 is a look up based on list 1 with the title linking to project in the two other lists.

PS If this works a coffee will be on it's way 🙂

Yay! Love coffee!! 😁

So, looking at the image, it seems that your relationship is a lookup in the list 2 and 3 that reference back to the list 1 record.

Is that correct?  The Project column in Status and Dates is a lookup?  Or am I missing something?

I do love a coffee my self but I drink to much and need to use decaf 😞

Hopefully the below makes sense as I think MS Access when I talk relationships.

The first image below is the first few columns for the Project Status list, the second image shows how "Project" column is a look up.

I hope that answers your question.

I hate to say it, but me too!  Usually it is decaf for me or I'll shake too much! 😜

Yes, so as I suspected, your lookup column is in the other lists pointing back to the first.

So, that leads me to the next question...will there be only ONE  Project Status and Project Dates record or will there be multiple records in those lists?

That will determine what you need.  If multiple, then you will want a gallery to show the records for that project for status and dates.  If only one, then you can go direct to a form to view/edit.

Decaf as well sad times LOL, maybe for this bonus coffee you could at least get a flavour shot "Not sure if your help normally takes this long ha ha.

I think the relationship will be one project can have multiple status updates not sure on the dates but likely. So I am guessing the answer is to go with a gallery view.  Which makes sense and answers part of the issue so thank you 😀.

Does that mean it would be possible to have two galleries on a single detail screen based on the selection from the first screen?
