Doing a lookup in an SQL Table

I thik this is pretty simple detail.  I'm just trying to get a value out of one column from the input column in an SQL table.  I thought this was simple and this would work:

LookUp('[dbo].[tbl_Drawings]'.DrawingNumber,Text(ThisItem.Part_x0020_Number),Title)

Anyone know where I went wrong?

Thanks.

Re: Doing a lookup in an SQL Table

Hi @martinavi

I suspect this is what you're looking for....

LookUp('[dbo].[tbl_Drawings]',
       DrawingNumber=Text(ThisItem.Part_x0020_Number),
       Title
)

Re: Doing a lookup in an SQL Table

You're almost correct, but you have to provide a formula how to pick a record, and in your code there is none.

I think you might mean something like this:

LookUp('[dbo].[tbl_Drawings]', DrawingNumber = ThisItem.Part_x0020_Number,Title)

This means that you from the Drawing table you look up the title, and you pick the correct record by comparing the DrawingNumber (which I hope is a field in the tbl_Drawings) with the current record's PartNumber.

Here is a link to the documentation for Lookup: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-filter-lookup

Good luck!
