Drobdown selection - Rule

Hi

I have dropdown field with following values,

New

Pending Estimation

Pending Process Team Input

Pending 3rd Party

Approved

Cancelled

If my selected item is "Pending Process Team Input" or "Pending 3rd Party" when form is loaded.  If user wants to change and submit the form, I have to restrict user to change only “Pending Estimation”

How do I stop submitting the form and shown error message when user is trying to select any other option like (New, Approved, Cancelled).

I'm using SharePoint Integration PowerApps.

Re: Drobdown selection - Rule

Hi @azeesdinu

Disable the submit button if user selects any of the other 3 options

You should have the current item value of your dropdown which you can store in a variable

Use the DisplayMode property of the submit button to disable if the condition is met

if((varValue =  "Pending Process Team Input" or "Pending 3rd Party") and (dropdownVale = any of the selected choices  then disable else enable

Re: Drobdown selection - Rule

If(dropdown.SelectedText.Value="New" || dropdown.SelectedText.Value="Approved "|| dropdown.SelectedText.Value "Cancelled",Notify("You can give your message about restriction",NotificationType.Error),SubmittheForm logic)

Hope this help !

Re: Drobdown selection - Rule

Hi,

Thanks for your response, I'm not using Submit button. I have used only OOTB save button.

How do I hold the dropdown value in variable. Do you want me to set the value in variable OnVisible event and compare with newly selected item with variable ?
