Drop Down Control Does Not Show Options from SharePoint Field

Hi Folks,

I have an app that I am trying top build from a SharePoint list. The gallery I built has several drop down controls on it and they do show the selected values from the list items but they do not show any of the options configured into the list field. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks and regards,

Patrick Kelligan

@Kelligan
To show all of the options from a Choices field in a Dropdown you can use this code in the Items property.

Choices(your_sharepointlist_name.your_column_name)

Hi @mdevaney,

Thanks for the response! your solution seems to work well. I have just one more question. One of the fields I must reference has parenthesis in the name. I know this is bad form and I will lobby to change it. I am inheriting this setup. In its current configuration, Power Apps looks like it is thinking that the extra parenthesis is nested rather than literal. Is there a way to escape those characters or will the underlying names need to be changed first.

Choices('Quarterly Reports'.'Grant Funds 100% Obligated (Obligated & Advertised) Actual/Expected')

Thanks and Regards,

Hi @mdevaney,

I have an unintended consequence from the fix I applied.  The drop down does show the choices but it does not show accurate values that should be in the list fields. All of the controls display the first choice in the list of values ("Actual"). Most of the controls should show "Expected" as that is the selected value in the list item I am viewing. Can you tell me what I may have done wrong?

Thanks and regards,

Patrick
