Dropdown and Combo Box concatenate

Hai, I am using a screen where it patch the User Input values to the Sharepoint list named "Projects" .

Here I am using

* Dropdown with Static values ["A","B","C","D","E","Other Explain"]. So i added a ""TextInputBox"" to mention for "Others".

2.png

* ComboBox to list Static multiple Values["A","B","C","D","Other Explain"]. So I added a ""TextInputBox"" To mention for "Others".

1.png

Here i need to concatenate the values to the string and

--->if the Values of Dropdown is "Other" have to patch both the drop down values and TextInput Values into the "Project Category"" column in Sharepoint list . If The TextInput box is Blank just patch the Dropdown Selected values alone.

*The Same way If the Combobox related TextInput Box is blank Just To patch the ComboBox.SelectedItems otherwise concat the ComboBox values and TextInput Values and need to patch in the "Project Tools Needed" Sharepoint list Column.

Please help .All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Sorry there is the 'Value' parameter missing at the end of the concat:

Concat(ForAll(ComboBox1.SelectedItems, Value & If(Value="Other Explain" && Not(IsBlank(TextInput1.Text)), ": "&TextInput1.Text, "")),Value, ", ")

Hope this helps,

Alex

For the dropdown, the code should like similar to this:

Dropdown.SelectedText.Value & If(Dropdown.SelectedText.Value="Other Explain" && Not(IsBlank(TextInput.Text)), ": "&TextInput.Text, "")

Hope this helps,

Alex

Hi,

I believe the following should be along the line of what you are looking:

Patch(
SharepointSource,
item,
{
FieldName: Concat(ForAll(ComboBox.SelectedItems, Value & if(Value="Other Explain" && Not(IsBlank(TextInputBox.Text)), ": "&TextInputBox.Text, "")), ", ")
}
)

Hope this helps,

Alex

Hi,
I am struggling with similar problem. Trying to use this solution but it doesn't work. Using below formula in update of my datacard.

I have a multiple choice datacard so used datacard.selected.value instead of a dropdown.

I want the datacard( that is multiple choice selection) to concatenate values from text input if you select other and datavalue.selecteditems both.

Formula:

DataCardValue9.Selected.Value & If(DataCardValue9.Selected.Value="Other Explain" && Not(IsBlank(TextInput3.Text)), ": "&TextInput3.Text, "")

Adding screenshot as well. Let me know if I am missing something! I really need your help!

I have been trying since yesterday! Appreciate any help. thank you!!Error_Dropdown.png

Hey,

It's there. Added screenshot. I am having issues with understanding why concat doesn't work here. I tried something like this in update before and this worked but doesn't give me the desired output:

If(DataCardValue9.Selected.Value = "Other" & DataCardValue9.Selected.Value,
Concatenate(Table({Value:TextInput3.Text}),DataCardValue9.Selected.Value),
DataCardValue9.SelectedItems
)

Does the formula you provided above to be put in the update section of the combobox?? Let me know .

Sorry I am pretty new here so asking lot of questions and I am stuck with this problem.Error_combobox.png
