Dropdown in Gallery don't show items

Hey guys

I have a problem with my dropdown in a gallery.

With the gallery the user should be able to fill in his material. The data source for the dropdown items is a sharepoint list.

Now when I try to open the dropdown in the app it only shows me the items for the first row of the gallery, but not for all the other rows. When I'm in the Edit Mode in Power Apps, it works fine and in every row the dropdown shows the items.

This is how it should look like:

first rowfirst row

And here is the one which not works...

other rowsother rows

It seems like a tiny mistake but I don't know what to do anymore.

Any help would be really great.

Hey,

I think what you are trying to achieve is not possible that easily.

Gallerys usually refer to 'ThisItem'. So basically you would need to define your columns in the ClearCollect.

I think you can watch this video about PowerApps Patch Function, so you would tell the Gallery Item you want to change it, because I think from your current set-up Power Apps has the first gallery item in Edit Mode by default. After changing you need to Patch the new information to the collection. This is explained in the video quite fine.

Hope this helps.

Best regards Florian

Hi,

Is it really a gallery or are these independent dropdowns?

If it's a gallery could you show us the formula you are applying to this dropdown.

Best regards

Hey

It is a gallery I use to avoid having too many control elements.

So I have an empty collection (only with IDs) to define how much rows the user gets to fill in his materials.

ClearCollect(
        ColRowsExtraArbeiten_Material;
        {ID: 1};
        {ID: 2};
        {ID: 3};
        {ID: 4};
        {ID: 5};
        {ID: 6};
        {ID: 7}
)

And in the dropdown I only refer to a column from a sharepoint list like "SPList.Column".

I also get the same problem with a combobox element...

@Florian_Kleinz thanks a lot for your input!

I solved the problem as I collect the SharePoint list in the ClearCollect in a column. So in the gallery I put ThisItem.ColumnName in the Items property. That works fine.
