I have 2 dropdown lists connected to Dynamics for an account name and a contact name. When you go to select a record they're both coming up blank. There are more than 5000 records for each in Dynamics so I know this can cause issues but not sure how to get the records to show in the dropdown list in PowerApps to be able to select them.
All other fields from Dynamics are showing ok so I know I've connected to the table ok, it's just the two fields with 5000+ records to choose from that I'm having problems with.
This form is linked to the "H&S Site Observations" table in Dynamics, I have also connected to the accounts and contacts (Apprentice) tables to see if that would help, but that's not making any difference.
Here's what it looks like.
From the picture, the control looks like a ComboBox. If so then please check the DisplayFields (Primary Text) property of the ComboBox control to ensure it is set to the proper value (Display Name or Email for example)
Any changes has been made for those two fields, Account name and the Contact Name field?
Based on the testing, if those two fields are defined as lookup field in Dynamics, then it should only display the corresponding Id with a string format (TextInput) within PowerApps.
If not, then please share more details, I will confirm the symptom and see if there are any workarounds could be provided.
Information that may need to be provided:
1. Data Source information, including Entity, Field type,
2. Control, and the corresponding property, like Data Source, items, Update and default property,
Thanks for the help, you set me in the right direction - I found those fields had "display fields" and "search fields" properties which link to the Dynamics tables and returns values. Now I just have the problem of it only showing the first 500 but that's for another day. I did a test and it's not saving a record in Dynamics so will try another workaround.
At least I've solved the first problem - thanks!
