Dropdown shows lesser values after selection

Hi,

I am facing a peculiar problem related to my dropdown. I have a cascading list of dropdowns namely:

Region, SubRegion, State, County

The user needs to select region first followed by the values in subsequent dropdowns. All of this data flows down from a SQL table.

Region shows values as Canada, Southern US, Northern US.

The query that I use to populate the Region dropdown is :

Distinct(
            '[dbo].[viewWellToolDataRecoveryToolRunLocationConfigs]',
            RegionName
        )

My problem is that when I choose the value Canada and proceed and come back to this screen, it does not show me Canada again - It shows only Southern US, Northern US.

If i choose, Southern US and proceed and come back to this screen, it then shows me the value in dropdown as only Northern US

and if i choose, Northern US and proceed and come back to this screen, it shows me only this value available in dropdown.

Nothing is changing at the database end. If i refresh the application, I start seeing all the values again.

I am not sure what is causing this problem.

When I checked the properties, it shows the parent as the Subregion dropdown and it is not showing me RegionDropdown as an option.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks,

Hi @AShep

It`s a strange behaviour.

You can try collection on it and test.

Re: Dropdown shows lesser values after selection

Hi @AShep

When you say that you come back to the screen and the previously selected value is not shown, I have a few questions:

  1. do you navigate away from the screen that has the region dropdown, and then come back later and this is when the value is not there?
  2. When you say the previous value is not there, do you mean it has disappeared from the list of options in the dropdown? or:
  3. Do you mean that the previously selected value is no longer selected and you have to select it again?
