Dynamic Dropbox with people/groups from a sharepoint list

Hello, I have a list in Sharepoint where multiple people are assigned to a sub-category which belongs to a category.

I'm trying to create an app in Power Apps which filters these people in a drop-down box based on what sub-category is selected in another drop-down box.

I've tried using standard formulas for filtering which worked in other situations, but it doesn't work for this one, it has an error under the equals sign saying "Invalid Argument Type"

Filter('Sub-Kategorijos', People.DisplayName = SubKategorijaDropDown.Selected.Title)

Re: Dynamic Dropbox with people/groups from a sharepoint list

Hi @MariusG96 ,

So in this case let's assume you have a Data Source that connects to your SharePoint List as such:

image.png

The Sharepoint list in question is similar to the one  you provided as follows:

In this situation if you want to filter the Display of the Person column based on the value of a drop box you can use the Filter function like such:

Filter(Categories,Category = Dropdown1.Selected.Value)

In this example you would be selecting the Data Source "Categories", and evaluate the "Category" field in the SharePoint List with the Value of the DropDown List.

After this if you want to return only the records from the column Person that match the specified criteria, you need to change the "Value" property of the DropDown.

Example:

Let me know if this answer has helped you move forward. 🙂

Ricardo
