Editing listing within Sharepoint through powerapps form

If you submit a form and the data is recorded within your Sharepoint listing. Can you pull up the data within your powerapps gallery, edit the form within powerapps, and have data changed within the same submission in sharepoint or does it count as a new submission and a new line on your data list. Example, original submission is ID 2 so if you edit it stays ID 2

Re: Editing listing within Sharepoint through powerapps form

Thanks @pnass001 for the clarification.

If you use EditForm(YourFormName) on ID2 and add information, then SubmitForm(YourFormName), ID2 will be updated with the information you have added.

Only NewForm() will create a new record.

Re: Editing listing within Sharepoint through powerapps form

HI @pnass001 ,

Not exactly sure on your question here. You can either edit an item or create a new one - they are separate processes.

You need to specify when navigating to your form NewForm(YourFormName) or EditForm(YourFormName) to do one or the other.

Re: Editing listing within Sharepoint through powerapps form

@WarrenBelz
I am aware of new and edit function. My example is, group 1 will have access to a power app to fill out the form. The moderator, me, will have to fill out a few extra fields (invisible to group 1) post submission. So I want to create another powerapp for myself and connect it to the same data source. Make those invisible fields visible for me so I can edit.

My question is, once I edit ID 2 submission, for example, will the edits create a whole new submission within the SharePoint listing (ID 3) or will it fill out the empty columns that weren’t filled out in the group 1 submission can just ID 2 is edited.
Another way to explain it, is the form has 50 questions, group 1 will fill out 30 questions 20 will be my job to answer post submission. All 50 have to be filled out so can I fill out the 20 later with an edit without creating a new ID submission
