Editing users display name

Hi there,

I have build an app for my workshop at a university, I have put together an auto fill email getting the students name, job no etc.

The problem I'm having is that the university uses a numerical student system in there email, so when i use ThisItem.Author.DisplayName it list there number and name, I was wondering if there is any way to remedy this?

Re: Editing users display name

Are the numbers listed first? Are they all the same number of digits? You can use the Left and Right functions to strip off characters from a string, but there would have to be a way to know how many characters to remove.

Hi @BrianS

I figured it out, thanks for the help!

Right(ThisItem.Author.DisplayName, (Len(ThisItem.Author.DisplayName) -8))

Re: Editing users display name

In this case I think Mid should work:

Mid(ThisItem.Author.DisplayName, 😎

Should return everything after the 8th character - but check because that may return the space as the first character
