I wonder if you can help me.
I have been building PowerBI reports, pinning them into a dashboard tile with liveview and then embedding the tile into an application within PowerApps. These are updated daily and pused to users.
I was out of the office for the last two weeks and something has changed as when users now try to interact with the tiles, it forces the user to look at the report on the PowerBI website rather than using the embedded tile. If you close the website the embedded tile works fine but when you make your next interaction another internet page is opened! An interaction in this case is making a selection on a slicer, clicking on linked charts or highlighting an element of a bar chart to dig into the data.
The users have aleardy authenticated both Powerapps and PowerBI.
This has been working with no issues for months and now it appears it has stopped working.
Any help / advise would be greatly appreciated. This is critical for us as all of our applications using the PowerBI Interface are now unusable.
Please see my posts in the following thread:
Based on what I know, user interaction within the Tile control in PowerApps will just open the corresponding report page in Power BI, if you would like to disable this, then you need to either set the
Displaymode property to: DisplayMode.View
PowerBIInteractions property to: False
Hi there Michael,
Thank you for your post.
Unfortunately both solutions you describe actually stop users from interacting with the tile at all which is not the functionality I am looking to achieve.
I want users to be able to interact with the tile within the native PowerApps interface - not having to use the PowerBI website or power BI App.
As described in my question, this was working successfully for the last few months and since the last round of updates, this functionality has been lost.
I spoke with a member of the Microsoft team and the response from the team is as follows :
“We are currently fixing this. There will be a new property that disables opening Power BI reports and just interacts with the tile. It is expected to be in production in 4 weeks, preview a week earlier.”
I have 100% the same related inquiry and problem. Have you been able to provide the new property defined? or Instead of having to defined a new property why not control this via the switches as per screenshot
I believe you should configure the Display mode as "Edit" and Power BI interaction to "Off" meaning it'll allow the tile to be interactive and doesnt send the user to the web portal.
Please kindly advise?
