Encountering "No item to display" message - SharePoint Online List

Hello everyone,

Another day, another error. 🙂

I have a SharePoint Online list, and I am working on customizing a form (using PowerApps) for when users add new items into that list.

Basically, I wanted to use one of the forms templates because I didn't like the default, all-white one that came, well, by default. I added a new screen (the forms template), and then moved it up to the top of the screens, and deleted the original/old screen.

All fields display fine in PowerApps (see below):

However, on the list side, this shows up:

I'm assuming this is just an issue of plugging in the right data somewhere, but I've spent the past couple hours searching for a way to do this, and so far have not figured out how to do so.

Thanks again for your time and help! I really appreciate how helpful people have been on these forums.

Set the ITEM property of the form to:

Defaults(name of your data source)

So, if the name of your SharePoint list is New User Request Form, the ITEM property of the form should be:

Defaults('New User Request Form')

So my first stupid question will be, how exactly (from where) do I go about setting the ITEM property of my form?

Thanks again!

Select the form on the left side of the screen.

Use the pull down menu near the top left of your screen to select ITEM

In the function box, type in:

Defaults('New User Request Form')

Did you update the SharePointIntergration with the form name? The easy fix might be to just rename the form from "EditForm2" to "SharePointForm1". The PowerApps custom form for SharePoint is a special app just for SharePoint forms, so I would recommend using caution before deleting the "SharePointForm1". You should have been able to do all the customizations I saw in the screenshot in the "SharePointForm1" form that was genrated by PowerApps.

@JeremyLefort

Okay, that did it! I'm making a note of this, for future reference. I am really new to this particular interface, so this was incredibly helpful. Thank you muchly. 🙂

No problem, glad to help!

@Jeff_Thorpe, SharePointIntegration was updated to the right list, namely 'New User Request Form'. I was hesitant to delete the first/default screen that was created when I first customized the list, but I spent some time trying to figure out how to customize it, with no success, so I just went with creating a new screen using one of the templates.

hi @JeremyLefort

Able to get the form load after setting the item property. Now i dont see the values being populated for the selected item.

Can you tell me if there is any other setting which needs to be done.

Thanks,
Sru

Thankyou!!!!!!!
