End to end tutorial for using a data gateway?

Hey guys, I have a requirement to consume data from an on-premises SQL Server instance in a PowerApp I'm building for a client. I know that the solution involves setting up a data gateway, but I don't have access to the client's servers and infrastructure, so I've had to rely on another party to set up the gateway, and can't check or troubleshoot the configuration.

The gateway appears in the Azure portal when I'm logged in with my vendor account, but not in PowerApps when I try to set up a new SQL Server connection using the same account.

Is there a good end to end tutorial for setting up a data gateway to achieve my goals? Any ideas on potential issues based on what I've described?

I'm new to data gateways, so there may very well be something obvious I've missed.

Thank you for the reply. However, my issue was that I couldn't see the gateway in the drop down, not that the gateway couldn't connect to the database.

I figured out what the issue was on my own. While the admin who created the gateway had granted me access to it in the Azure portal, he hadn't given me access in PowerApps. Once he did that, I was able to see and use it.

Hi @BrandonMurray,

Data gateway need to be able to connect to the server name of the on-premises SQL Server that was provided. The gateway requires connectivity to the data source.
