Erratic behaviour when filtering Gallery Lists

I have two Apps that both filter a gallery based on the selection of an item in another seperate gallery list. The first works perfectly, the second flat out refuses and constantly throws an invalid argument or invalid seperator error, despite the syntaz being identical on both.

App 1 (Working)

Filter(DiaryData,  Project = Gallery2_1.Selected.Site)

App 2 (Errors)

Filter(BoQ, Area = ProjectArea.Selected.Area)

The only things that are different is that the second example is working off a list with a lot of repetitive data & both galleries are on the same screen.

I've found several other threads mentioning this issue, but the solutions given (add .Value) don't do anything for me. Anybody got any clues? Thanks in advance.

Re: Erratic behaviour when filtering Gallery Lists

Forgot to mention, if I amend the second App Gallery Item formula to:

Filter(BoQ, Area = "Level 00") where Level 00 is a selectable value from the first gallery List, it works flawlessly.

Re: Erratic behaviour when filtering Gallery Lists

Hi @RS,

Could you please explain a bit for the data type of the Area field in the first gallery of your example 2?

The Area field in the filter function should be in the same type.

If the Area field in first gallery is lookup type, then adding .value should make it work:

Filter(BoQ, Area = ProjectArea.Selected.Area.value)

If the Area is also a lookup type in the BoQ, then the formula should be:

Filter(BoQ, Area.value = ProjectArea.Selected.Area.value)
