Erroneous datetimevalue argument suddenly raising errors

In my app a commandline input is parsed and I want to test if someone entered a datetime value. Until now I just put a string into the datetimevalue and see if some valid date would come out. I would love a IsDateTime and IsDate function like IsNumeric but that sadly does not exist.

This used to work fine but since of late I get red banners. Is ther eany way to avoid that without actually testing the string character for character using heaps of code to deal with any possible way the date might be entered? Something with IsError( or something?
