Error Accessing App

Hello,

I have a couple of members of staff who are having issues accessing an app.  They have had no problems up until now opening the app and working on it.  However, they are getting the following error:

neill_long_0-1699621852426.png

It works fine for me and another colleague though.  I have asked them to clear cache, but that hasn't resolved the issue.  Do you have any advice on how this can be fixed?

thanks

Hi @neill_long

If you company is using a VPN try disabling it and try again. Otherwise I would also try it in Chrome.

If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know. Have a great day! 😊

Hi @neill_long ,

The error "ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" typically indicates a problem with the DNS resolution, which means the user's computer is unable to find the IP address associated with the domain name. Here are a few steps to resolve the issue:

  1. DNS Settings: Have the staff check their DNS settings or try switching to a public DNS like Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) to see if that resolves the issue.

  2. Network Troubleshooting: Run the Windows Network Diagnostics as suggested by the error message to detect any issues with the network configuration.

  3. Browser Check: Try using a different web browser or an incognito window to see if the problem persists.

  4. Firewall and Proxy: Verify that the firewall or proxy settings haven't changed and are not blocking access to Power Apps.

  5. Hosts File: Check the hosts file on the affected users' computers to ensure that there are no incorrect entries blocking the domain.

  6. Network Restart: Sometimes, simply restarting the router or modem can resolve DNS issues.

  7. IT Support: If the problem continues, involve your IT support team as they can provide network-level troubleshooting and possibly identify if the issue is specific to certain users' network segments or profiles.

  8. VPN Connection: If they are using a VPN, ask them to disconnect from it and try accessing the app again, as the VPN could be routing traffic in a way that causes DNS resolution problems.

  9. Microsoft Service Status: Check the Power Platform admin center or Microsoft 365 admin center to see if there are any known issues with Power Apps services that might be affecting users.

    Best Regards,
    Hassan Raza

@neill_long

I had a similar problem accessing Power Apps this morning. I guess there might have been an intermittent networking problem. I'd suggest that your colleages try pinging apps.powerapps.com.

If they don't receive a reply, that would indicate an underlying network problem in accessing Power Apps.

thanks for all the responses.  it is now working fine again for the users without them having to do any of the suggestions you provided.

Must have been an intermittent problem.  Will keep these suggestions in mind if it happens again
