Error - There was a problem in adding your service. Please try again later.

Details of error : "Service could not be created. The service configuration file is invalid. No functions defined. There must be at least one '{http://wadl.dev.java.net/2009/02}method' or '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/MicrosoftProjectSiena/WADL/2014/11}function' element specified."

Steps :

1. created a "AdventureWorks.edmx" file connected to an Azure on Prem AdventureWorks DB

2. Created a WCF data service 5.6.4 using the above with following settings in Initializeservice method :

 config.UseVerboseErrors = true;
 config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("*", EntitySetRights.AllRead);
 config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = DataServiceProtocolVersion.V3;

3.Added swagger definitions using Install-Package Swashbuckle command referring to article : https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/customapi-web-api-tutorial/

4. Published this api to azure and generated the v1.json definition

5. created a new custom connection successfully using this swagger definition

6. when trying to connect to data using this connection in a new PowerApp, getting the above error.

Any Advice is appreciated !

Thanks,

Having the same issue here though my entry point is different:

1. Created a custom connector

2. Used OAUTH2.0 authentication

3. Added the auto-generated Redirect URL to my REST endpoint

4. Tested connector and was presented with a login screen

5. Provided credentials, custom connector appears happy

6. Opened PowerApp

7. Add Data Source

8. Choose Custom Connector just created

9. Error:

Service could not be created. The service configuration file is invalid. No functions defined. There must be at least one '{http://wadl.dev.java.net/2009/02}method' or '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/MicrosoftProjectSiena/WADL/2014/11}function' element specified.

What is a Service Configuration File? I don't remember running across this in the PowerApps custom connnector docs.

I think you have to recreate the connector as I am currently thinking connector is corrupt as I can't revert back to what I know worked and allowed adding into my PowerApp.

Facing this same issue (years later!). No resolution shown on the internets.

Scenario:

- Create a new Custom Connector

  - Connects through on-prem data gateway

- Connector tests fine after creation. Response 200 Success

- When attempting to add the Custom Connector to an app, receive the following error:

```
There was a problem adding your service. Please try again later:
Service could not be created. The service configuration file is invalid. No functions defined. There must be at least one '{http://wadl.dev.java.net/2009/02}method' or '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/MicrosoftProjectSiena/WADL/2014/11}function' element specified.
Already tried:
- Deleting/recreating APP
- Deleting/recreating Connction
- Deleting/recreating Custom Connector
Same fail. Please advise.
