Error creating Power App from SharePoint Online List - data type not supported

Hello there,

I tried to create an app to see how it works through SP Online via Power Apps -> Create an App of a form /list.

I get this message as it was trying to build the app

{"status":400,"message":"The required field \"End User Department\" data type is not supported","errors":[]}

This is a dropdown box which users could check multiple values.

Why does this error occur?

Thanks

Lawrence

Hi Corestaples,

What column types are there in your list? How did you configure the DropDown control?
With the connection created properly, you could try to set the Items property of the Dropdwon control as :ListName.ColumnName.

Please try if this works.

It is a choice type which allowed multiple selections ..

Choice (menu to choose from)

Checkboxes (allow multiple selections)

Require that this column contains information: (yes)

Enforce unique values: (No)

Hi Corestaples,

Please check this document about SharePoint Known issues:
https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/connection-sharepoint-online/

From this document we know that PowerApps doesn't support columns that support multiple values or selections.
Please clear the Allow multiple values checkbox and try again.

Thank you.. I cannot clear it as its required for the user to provide them the option to select more than one value for that field.

Too bad it's still buggy

Hi Corestaples,

I have seen an idea about "Full support for Sharepoint Choice fields" on PowerApps Ideas Fourm, you could vote and comment at here, PGs will take hot ideas into consideration first:
https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Ideas/Full-support-for-Sharepoint-Choice-fields/idi-p/...

Thanks for your feedback and understanding.
