Error loading data from Excel only after republish of app

Hello,

I have created an app that gets data from Excel stored on One drive. Both the app and the source file have been shared with the users.

Each time I republish me and my users get the normal message saying a new version of the app exists, ok so far, we click on it to update. We then all get an error message : Failed to load [data source]. An unknown error occurred

The thing is that this error happens only once. If I get out of the app and come back, the refresh of the data is done without error.

If I perform a refresh manually from within the app, it works as well.

Has anyone experienced this? What could cause the issue?

I cannot reproduce your issue.

Are you the creator of this excel and app? Is this error also happeing to you?

If you wait for some time after publishing the app, will the error still show for the first time opening? 

Please share the session ID when the issue happens.

Indeed if I wait some time issue does not happen, I did not quantify though how many minutes I have to wait. Maybe I am over enthusiastic about PowerApps and was not waiting long enough 🙂
