Error when looking up a column in a table

Hi!
I have a text label where I use the following code to show text:

LookUp('Equipment List', ItemNo = Value(DatacardItemNo.Default) && Plant = myPlant).Links

This works. It gives me the desired text from the desired item.

But I have an annoying problem, even though it works, it is marked with a red cross and it says error!

The requested operation is invalid. Server Respons: Equipment list failed: A binary operator with incompatible types was detected. Found operand types "Edm.Int32" and 'EDM.stging' for operator kind 'Equal'.

Any suggestion on how to fix the code to make the error go away?

Hi @mrstian89 ,

The syntax is correct, assuming your values also are. So my assumptions from your post are: -

  • ItemNo is a Numeric field in 'Equipment List'
  • Plant is a Single Line of Text field in 'Equipment List'
  • myPlant is a Text Variable that would contain a value when this is run
  • Links is a Single Line of Text field in 'Equipment List'
  • DataCardValue43 contains a Numeric value (and is set to Numeric)

Are any of these assumptions incorrect?

Hi @mrstian89 ,

Assuming you have a control in the data card - or is that the control name (a text box in the example below)

LookUp(
   'Equipment List',
   ItemNo = Value(DatacardItemNo.Text) && Plant = myPlant
).Links

Changed to this code:

LookUp('Equipment List',
ItemNo = Value(DataCardValue43.Text) && Plant = myPlant).Links

Still works, but still the same error!

The error mysteriously went away by it self! Just a bug i presume. 🙂
