Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@RandyHayes,

I am storing data in a text field as all of these checkboxes are individual. So I used one of the formula to patch and save it to the text field. And you are right in terms of not getting the value.

Not sure how can we display to user, what was submitted earlier?

My form will be used both to submit new request and if they want to edit previously submitted content then they can click on edit button and can view already submitted information for the questions except this.

Any function that I can add on all thise checkboxes to reflect the information?

@rajkumar88

So let's start with some formulas - what are your formulas for Updates and Defaults?

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@RandyHayes,

column .update property:

Mid(
Concatenate(
If(Checkbox1_4.Value, ","&" " & "Accountability and credibility", ""),
If(Checkbox2_4.Value, "," & " " & "Adaptability and flexibility", ""),
If(Checkbox3_4.Value, "," & " " & "Analytical thinking", ""),
If(Checkbox4_4.Value, "," &" " & "Building collaborative relationships", ""),
If(Checkbox5_4.Value, "," &" " & "Creative initiative", ""),
If(Checkbox6_4.Value, "," &" " & "Customer orientation", ""),
If(Checkbox7_4.Value, "," &" " & "Developing others", ""),
If(Checkbox8_4.Value, "," &" " & "Empowering others", ""),
If(Checkbox9_4.Value, "," &" " & "Forward thinking", ""),
If(Checkbox10_5.Value, "," &" " & "Fostering innovation", ""),
If(Checkbox11_4.Value, "," &" " & "Fostering teamwork", ""),
If(Checkbox12_4.Value, "," &" " & "Influencing others", ""),
If(Checkbox13_4.Value, "," &" " & "Interpersonal effectiveness", ""),
If(Checkbox14_4.Value, "," &" " & "Managerial courage", ""),
If(Checkbox15_4.Value, "," &" " & "Mobilizing for change", ""),
If(Checkbox16_4.Value, "," &" " & "Results orientation", ""),
If(Checkbox17_4.Value, "," &" " & "Self confidence", ""),
If(Checkbox18_6.Value, "," &" " & "Strategic thinking", ""),
If(Checkbox10_7.Value, "," &" " & "Fostering motivation", "")
), 2)

default property: ThisItem.Goals

Here Goals is an text column.

checbox1.default : "Accountability and credibility" in Split(Parent.Default, ",")

like wise each checkbox is setup with similar function with a change of TEXT.

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@rajkumar88

Sorry for the delay...been away for a while.

So, I would suggest the following formula for your Update property:

Concat(
   [
        If(Checkbox1_4.Value, "Accountability and credibility")
        If(Checkbox2_4.Value, "Adaptability and flexibility"),
	If(Checkbox3_4.Value, "Analytical thinking"),
	If(Checkbox4_4.Value, "Building collaborative relationships"),
	If(Checkbox5_4.Value, "Creative initiative"),
	If(Checkbox6_4.Value, "Customer orientation"),
	If(Checkbox7_4.Value, "Developing others"),
	If(Checkbox8_4.Value, "Empowering others"),
	If(Checkbox9_4.Value, "Forward thinking"),
	If(Checkbox10_5.Value, "Fostering innovation"),
	If(Checkbox11_4.Value, "Fostering teamwork"),
	If(Checkbox12_4.Value, "Influencing others"),
	If(Checkbox13_4.Value, "Interpersonal effectiveness"),
	If(Checkbox14_4.Value, "Managerial courage"),
	If(Checkbox15_4.Value, "Mobilizing for change"),
	If(Checkbox16_4.Value, "Results orientation"),
	If(Checkbox17_4.Value, "Self confidence"),
	If(Checkbox18_6.Value, "Strategic thinking"),
	If(Checkbox10_7.Value, "Fostering motivation")
    ],
    If(!IsBlank(Value), Value & ", ")
 )

Then, for the Default properties of your check boxes:

IsMatch(Parent.Default, "Accountability and credibility", Contains)

and so on for each Check box

See if that moves you in the right direction.

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@RandyHayes,

By doing this, will it be able to display information from that text field to these checkboxes? Becuase the back we are saving it to text field column

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@rajkumar88

Yes, the first formula is what builds the text that goes in that column.

The other formula (which would be duplicated on all the checkboxes with the proper text) would check for the existance of the value in the Parent.Default (which is that text column)...assuming you have your Checkboxes in your Datacard for that column.

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@RandyHayes,

thanks Randy. looks like it's working but there is a "Comma" at the end of the third selection. because we are making "next" button disabled if it is more than 3 checkbox selection.

EX: Here there is now a new extra "Comma" after forward thinking.

Accountability and credibility, Adaptability and flexibility, Forward thinking,

2. QAfter making above changes now it is allowing me to select more than 3 checkboxes. not sure why below function stopped working all of sudden.

for Next button property I am using displaymode: If(scount5>3,Disabled,DisplayMode.Edit)

for each checbox uncheck and check property:  UpdateContext({scount5:scount5+1})

                                                                             UpdateContext({scount5:scount5-1})

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@rajkumar88

You could implement the same logic you had in your other formula with the mid function and switch the concat around a little:

Mid(
  Concat(
     [
        If(Checkbox1_4.Value, "Accountability and credibility")
        If(Checkbox2_4.Value, "Adaptability and flexibility"),
	If(Checkbox3_4.Value, "Analytical thinking"),
	If(Checkbox4_4.Value, "Building collaborative relationships"),
	If(Checkbox5_4.Value, "Creative initiative"),
	If(Checkbox6_4.Value, "Customer orientation"),
	If(Checkbox7_4.Value, "Developing others"),
	If(Checkbox8_4.Value, "Empowering others"),
	If(Checkbox9_4.Value, "Forward thinking"),
	If(Checkbox10_5.Value, "Fostering innovation"),
	If(Checkbox11_4.Value, "Fostering teamwork"),
	If(Checkbox12_4.Value, "Influencing others"),
	If(Checkbox13_4.Value, "Interpersonal effectiveness"),
	If(Checkbox14_4.Value, "Managerial courage"),
	If(Checkbox15_4.Value, "Mobilizing for change"),
	If(Checkbox16_4.Value, "Results orientation"),
	If(Checkbox17_4.Value, "Self confidence"),
	If(Checkbox18_6.Value, "Strategic thinking"),
	If(Checkbox10_7.Value, "Fostering motivation")
      ],
      If(!IsBlank(Value), ", " & Value)
   ),
2)

That should get rid of the trailing ,

Your other logic should not be impacted.  I would put a label on the screen and set the text property to scount5 to make sure you are getting a value and that it is working.

Re: Existing information is not showing up during the edit form

@RandyHayes,

brilliant that got the issue fixed. And the other one I will do more tests and see how it goes.

I am also trying on a "button" onselect property under a "Gallery" : Here Language is an choice filed(dropdown). I hope i am using right function.

If(Language.Value="FR",
Navigate(fr_ManagerCommentsScreen,ScreenTransition.None),Navigate(ManagerCommentsScreen,ScreenTransition.None))
