Export-Import CDS Entities across environments

Hi

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/administrator/export-import-packages

Above link says, you can export and import resources from admin portal but I do not see option to export or import resources when I select Source/target environment. I have a canvas app which I am able to export and import as a package in other environment. At the same time I want to export and import entities which I am not able to. I know I cannot export data using export-import feature for which I need to use excel. But any suggestion on how to export entities?

Yes, you can certainly do this, although today it's not intuitive from the PowerApps portal.

Click the Advanced tab on model-driven mode, which will open up the solution containing any customizations made from the PowerApps portal. You'll see an "export solution" option and it will have a wizard to guide you through export.

Here's an article for more information. Note we're working to make this experience much more user friendly and appreciate any feedback you may have.

If you go to Data > Entities there is an Export button in the ribbon. Is that what you are looking for?

Thanks @Shanescows for your response but I think Data -> Entities -> Export option only allows you to export data not entity definition. I was particularly looking to export entity definition and import into other CDS environments.

Got it. I wonder if @CWesener can help. He is the smartest CDS person I know. 🙂

Thanks @caburk for your response.

I believe this is the only way to export-import entities and customizations acroos CDS environments as of now.

As a feedback, when we export and package Canvas Apps through PowerApp web portal if user will have flexibility to add entities, business rules, flows as related/dependant resources, will be very meaningful and helpful.

Thank you Sachin, I've passed along your feedback to the respective PM owners on my team and we do have some of this work in-flight.
