I developed an app in the Community Plan with Dataverse, and would like to export the app (with Dataverse tables) and import to Microsoft Team. Is it doable? If so, how?
It is possible to import an app created on make.powerapps.com into Microsoft Teams.
This link explains the process in full detail: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/teams/embed-teams-app#:~:text=Download%20the%20app%20Sign....
Please let me know if that answers your question. I'm happy to help if you continue to run into an issue, or if I've misunderstood your inquiry.
Warm regards, Haider
Thanks @haidernadeem !
I was able to download the app from Community Plan as you instructed, but don't see "Upload a custom app" in the Team. I read the document that you provided too, and I don't have that option in the dropdown. Does it mean the admin disabled it?
@snowfox I've looked into this further, and it looks like in order to upload an app you must either be the team owner, or the team owner must give you permissions to do so. If you take a look at this link, you'll see the note which indicates this.
Using this link https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/dashboard navigate to:
Team apps > Org-wide app settings
Is 'Allow interaction with custom apps' on?
Also, in Microsoft Teams,
Is 'Allow members to upload custom apps' enabled?
It's possible that your organization is using a free version of Microsoft Teams, which does not allow for access to the admin center. You can find more information on this here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/upgrade-freemium . You can also check this link to see the different offerings for the paid version of Microsoft Teams https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/upgrade-freemium
If you verify that you do have a valid subscription to access the full features of Microsoft Teams, then I would recommend opening a support ticket for this issue using this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/get-help-support
Please let me know if this information about the subscriptions addresses the issues you have been having.
Does that imply that the free version of Microsoft Team is not allowed to install custom app that I built in Community Plan? Just want to confirm before I talk to my boss. Thank you!
Could you try to install the Power Apps for team application following the steps in this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/teams/install-personal-app and then try to import the application you've created in PowerApps by following these steps https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/teams/import-solution-in-teams
