Fields' values are disappearing on Detail Screen

When viewing the detail screen, the data was shown briefly then they start to dissapear one by one in no particular order.

Sometimes only some of them dissapear, sometimes all of them. Sometimes this doesn't happen.

Not all users experience this behavior.

This only happens to text fields with Lookup function in their Text properties. The function refers to a table in a SQL Server database on Office 365, created using Access 2013.

Thanks for reporting this.

The behavior you described sounds really weird.

As the details pane could display the data at first, so I think there should be no issue with the connections.

Would it be available for you to share the lookup function formula here?

I have SQL Server database available, please let me know the formula and I will try to reproduce this from my side.

Thanks for responding.

There are 5 data fields that each uses a Text box to display its value.

So for example, DataCard4 contains:

 

DataField : "Sports3"

 

Default : ThisItem.Sports3

(this is bound to the registration table that has Sports1 ... Sports5 columns)

 

I add another connection to [Access.Sports] table that holds the names of Sports to be picked.

The DataField holds the value that relates to the ID column of that table, so I have to look it up to find its corresponding name/title.

 

DataCardValue4.Text : LookUp('[Access].[Sports]', ID = Value(Parent.Default), Title)

 

I also experimented on changing "Parent" in the above formula, with "DataCard4". However, it didn't improve the display.

 

The Lookup formula is the same one I use for the Edit Screen. Most of the time, it works in Edit mode, much more consistent than in Read Mode (on Display Screen), although sometimes (rarely) the drop down list is emptly when a user opens it for editing. The list is re-populated whenever the grade changes.

Really sorry for the late response.

The data displays correctly from my side, I saw you opened the app under Dynamics 365 portal, does this issue also happen under PowerApps Studio Desktop?

In addition, PowerApps Studio updated to version 2.0.590, please take a try to update and then check again.

Using PowerApps Studio would be helpful for further investigation, as there is a session ID that we could obtain (Under PowerApps Studio Desktop, Click File->Account->Session Details) from it.

The problem seems to come and go. Sometimes everything goes fine. Other times, the problem reappears.

 

This problem seems to be consistent on a friend of mine. Using the desktop version, we see an error message which doesn't appear when we're using the browser:

 

Failed to load [Access].[Sports Choices]. The specified record was not found. Server Response: Execution Failure inner exception: The specified item [Access].[Sports Choices] is not found

 

One of his session ID was 7729a0c6-5a43-cb8c-4e97-c9b38ce67fec .

[Sports Choices] is the table in my database. The database was created using Access 2013 as an app on Office 365. That's why the table has [Access] as its namespace. It's actually an SQL Server database. Even though I can do some tasks using SQL Server Management Studio, I can't set or change any permissions on the tables. Most of the database back end tasks have to be done from Access 2013.

 

Do you suppose this is the core of the problem? How can I resolve this?
