Filter ComboBox using another field?

Hi Folks -

I have a forum that has a data source of "rdPartnerAssets" and a ComBox that is populates with a certain source (Table.Column) based on a Radio button selection on my form.

However, I would like if I can filter ComboBox with another field from that source.  Each source has a SP column called "Portfolio_Status" and I'd like to return all value from the particular data source where "Portfolio_Status" <> Terminated.

My current formula is as follows:

If(Radio1.Selected.Value="Asset",RD_Portfolio_Compound_List.Alias,Radio1.Selected.Value="Investment",RD_Investment_List.Alias,Radio1.Selected.Value="Target",RD_Target_List.Alias)

I tried th filter function, but can't seem to get it to fire. Thanks!

Sorry wrong screen shot!

Below is the correct one. For some reason, its not recognizing "Portfolio_Status" in the data source...(RD_Portfolio_Compound_List).

@R3dKap  Hi -

Thank you, but that doesn't validate.  Also, Alias isn't a choice column in the data sources.

What is the datatype of your Alias column then?

@R3dKap  Text.

Hi @simms7400, can't see your last capture...

Thanks... Ok... So what is the data type of your Alias column ?

@R3dKap  Text, I mentioned it above.

Thanks.

Oups, sorry... Didn't see it (post was too small Smiley Very Happy)...

Ok, so let's summarize the situation here:

  • you have a RadioButton control with 3 values: Asset, Investment, Target
  • you have a ComboBox control in which you want the items to be populated from an Alias text-typed column located in a list datasource that varies according to the selected value on the RadioButton control
  • among the items of the ComboBox you do not want to keep those for which the Portfolio_Status text-typed column in the corresponding list datasource equals "Terminated"

Is that correct?

This is assuming that all list datasources have the 2 columns Alias and Portfolio_Status... Correct ?

@R3dKap

Bingo!! All of your assumptions are 100% correct!!!  Thank you!

Sorry... I was busy on another matter...

Ok, now that we have the exact goal we just need to find the solution Smiley Very Happy...

Let me do a test on my side and come back to you...
