Filter Content Type item out of a Choices

I've added the ContentType column to my form.  I already have it hiding fields and so on.  I have a three content types in my list.

Item,ContentType1, ContentType2

I have "Item" as the default and ContentType1 and 2 hidden from the list.  I want to hide the "Item" choice from the drop down list when the form starts.  I'm hoping this would require the user to pick a content type.

I tried using  Filter(Choices('QA Database'.'{ContentType}').Name,Name <> "Item")  .  It hid the Item choice but that caused all items created to be the default content type of "Item" and it wouldn't switch back.

Re: Filter Content Type item out of a Choices

Hi @ComputerHabit2 ,

Could you please share a bit more about your issue?

Do you create a custom form using PowerApps in your SP List?

Further, could you please share a screenshot about your issue?

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:

Set the Items property of the ContentType field ComboBox to following:

Filter(Choices('QA Database'.'{ContentType}'), Name <> "Item")

Set the Update property of the ContentType field data card to following:

ContentTypeComboBox.Selected
