Filter with variable to partially match SP List value

Hello All,

I'm building an app to quickly find phonenumbers or other data about employees in the firm.

I started with a basic page that shows an organisation chart of the different services and on which you can then click to get the right service in a second page. That works well.

But to improve the user experience, I also want to have a search field on the basic page that then displays the searched data in another page. To do this, I linked the search field in the first page to a variable that can then be used on the new page to search different fields.

And that is where it goes wrong. If you type in the exact keyword, you get results, but if you only type in a part of the word to be searched for, you get no results.  (e.g. when you search for "vo" you should get "Bavo" but you get nothing. Even when you but the complete first word "Bavo" you get nothing.  If you give the complete name "CLAES Bavo " then you get the desired result but I wanted it to filter on only a part of the string :-(.

The column is a TEXT field so nothing special there.

I already found and read different posts on the subject but not gave me a solution for my specific problem.

Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this?

Thanks for any thoughts on the subject.

Grtz

Hi @peeceeke ,

I am assuming these are fields you are searching

Filter(
   Personeelslijst_complete;
   (
      varSearch in Afdeling ||
      varSearch in ACTpersoneel ||
      varSearch in Graad ||
      varSearch in Dienst.Value
   ) &&
   Actief
)
