Good day sir! It's saying This formula uses scope, which is not presently supported. If I change the code below to "DCR0009295" - The item I am testing with. Then the code works. I am doing this in a gallery.

I modified the code to this:

"This formula uses scope, which is not presently supported." is not an error!!  It is a notice that the formula editor cannot determine which "ThisItem" it should apply the in-line value representation to show.  This is completely normal on a formula that refers to any derived records (from the Items property).

But the question is - beside the notification message - what trouble/error are you having?

I'm doing this in the gallery itself, how do I pin point the gallery item I am trying to find the string in? Right now all items in the gallery say trained:

I see!  Lots of collections used that aren't needed, but that is not so much the issue in what you have for your gallery at this point.

What I am gathering from that is that the Sign_data_A column contains the text string that I mentioned??  Is that in each record of your gallery?

I guess I am still not understanding (in relation to each row/record in your gallery), where is that text string coming from?  Is it in the record of the gallery, or is it in some other record in some other list, or has it been pulled into some other variable already?

Sorry, that string is ThisItem.Sign_data_A I went to collections to avoid delegation errors? I am always trying to make my code more efficient. I also maybe use too many variables but maybe that's a talk for another time? hahaha.

The gallery items are:

Yes...too many variables is too much like development.  PowerApps is not a development platform.  It is built on the concepts of Excel.  So, everything is referential and by formula evaluation.  PowerApps adds some abilities to make that concept more powerful, but they are to augment the concept, not to be the basis of the platform.  In other words...use variables very sparingly and only when really needed.  Refer to other places and data that you have already determined. 

As an example, you have a Set(var_DCR_view, First(col_currentview).TMProcess); statement in your formula.  This is redundant because First(col_currentview).TMProcess will have the value you want always.  var_DCR_view will only have a snapshot of it.

Collections are ONLY needed when you need an in-memory database in which you are planning to have the ability to add/remove/edit records in a table.  Otherwise, just use a table!!  Delegation is never avoided with collections.  Delegation and record limits are two entirely different things.  Your app should only ever work with the data that it needs...not all data.  This kills performance and is a waste of resources.

Okay...that said.

I still have one mystery to discover from you!

You reference First(col_currentview) in your original formula for the TMMID, TMName, and TMShift columns.

Why are you referencing a collection for this?  Wouldn't you want your data in that formula to come from your gallery row?  How does the collection play a part in that, and why?

Or I guess the question is more of - why does the First record of that table reflect what you want and not each row of it?  Your table is generated from a Filter...so there is only going to be records from the source table (what is command_process_certification by the way??)  So, why does the first record have some rank over the others?
