First PowerApp, trouble passing selected item in dropdown to data table on screen

Hi there,

I just started working with PowerApps yeserday after hearing all about it at the Data Insights Summit and I am hoping someone can help me.  The first part of my project I have members with pharmacy claims that have been flagged because they have over 8 meds in a month.  So I want to build a screen for the pharmacist to select a member id, and then from that drop down pass the value to the Data Table (or some other way to display the member's drug details).  I used a distinct(table1.pat_primary_identifier) to get the unique list of member ids in the drop down box but I can't figure out how to pass the selected value to the data table.  When I change the Items property in the Data Table from Table1 to Dropdown2.selected.value I don't get any data.  Can anyone help me get past this first curve?

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous,

About the data of the dropdown, where is it stored? Is it a CDS connection or what? You could first try to let PowerApps create the app for you to see how the control works. For your reference:
