Fob reader to PowerApps

I am working on an App that is common between users, but users can register what they work on by only using their fob.

If the field is a input field, users can scan the fob and it does the job.

The issue is that users will have the possibility to write the code by hand and use the code of a colleague.

I tried to use a input field with a timer, but doesn't work if the code is copied and pasted in the interval of the timer.

I can't find a method where the user clicks a button, the App waits an input from the USB, when fob is read, code is added (through a variable on the text field of the button).

Any ideas?

I tried a different method using input value (InV) and a mask(Ma):

  • InV.OnSelect = UpdateContext({PendingFob:true});
  • InV.OnChange = UpdateContext({FobCode:Self.Text});
  • Ma.Visible = PendingFob

Summary: once InV is selected, Ma will cover the content and the previous code will be erased. When the fob is scanned, InV will store the value and execute the OnChange. The value will be stored for future use, the content of InV is resetted and the Ma is invisible again.

Is a little messy, but does somebody has any other suggestion?
