For some machines (Laptops with cameras), Orientation when you add Camera Control is always Portrait and sideways regardless of settings

It seems simple enough when watching others demo from their (nicer?) devices.  On my Dell, I Open a Blank Canvas and add the Camera control and regardless of the settings (phone or tablet, portrait or landscape), the image shown in the live camera is always "portrait" and always sideways (does not do that in any of the meeting systems or when I record for camtasia or powerpoint, etc.)  There is no control available for the device to set it (and it works everywhere else anyway) and no parameters to flip it.   Any suggestions besides "ignore it" in the development area because it "just works" when done from a real tablet or phone?   Bad enough for this to be like this at User group meetings but really embarrasing at client meetings 😞  Thanks in advance! sidewaysview.png

Re: For some machines (Laptops with cameras), Orientation when you add Camera Control is always Portrait and sideways regardless of settings

Hey @bigpix2000

I am not able to reproduce this issue, can you please share more details about the configuration of the camera control and screen resolutions in the canvas app. Can you try to create a new app and confirm if the issue still exists?

In case, you want to flip the camera control, you need to set the Camera property of the camera icon.

For that, you can add an icon on the screen, place the below expression on the "OnSelect" property of the control:
Set(TurnCamera,!TurnCamera)

Camera Control -> Camera -> If(TurnCamera,0,1)

This will allow you to flip the control, you can place this icon on the camera itself so that it looks more user friendly.

Hope this Helps!

Re: For some machines (Laptops with cameras), Orientation when you add Camera Control is always Portrait and sideways regardless of settings

Unfortunately, it does not help.  The setting "1" is not accepted by the camera setting, only 0 (this may be the "bug")  When set to 0 it looks like this: sidewaysview2.png

But when I click or set it to 1 it looks like this:  sidewaysview3.png

There is no camera setting I can adjust on the laptop.   As a note, I tested this and on my phone it "flips" from selfie mode to regular camera mode ... and, of course, on the phone it looks just fine 😕  (Almost ... I set it with tablet and the phone does not update the look but that's another issue)  ... So Camera <> Flip 90 degrees 😞
