Formula Text currency format

Hi,

New to Power Apps. Building from a SP List I can get a PApp showing -

PA1.PNG

You can see from the formula bar that I've tried to configure the field to display currency, but it fails to display. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Re: Formula Text currency format

Issue Resolved: The field I was attempting to format as currency was a calculated field in the SP list. This does not work.

I changed the PApps field to recalculate the original SP List values and format the result as currency - it now works.

Re: Formula Text currency format

Hi Chris

I have the same issue, could you explain to me exactly how you solved it please? What do you mean by recalculating?

Re: Formula Text currency format

Hi Michelle,

If you look at the snapshot I placed in the opening post you'll see that I have a calculated field in the SharePoint List called Net. The value is the product of the SP list fields Rate * Units.

Power apps does not handle SP list calculated fields well. All I did was change the PA field formula as shown below -

PA2.PNG

It will then format correctly.

Hope this helps

Chris

Re: Formula Text currency format

If I understand you correctly, this may also work (and is a bit simpler/more robust):

Text(Value(Net),"[$-en-US]$00.00")

as it appears the calculated field (Net) is returned as a string. The Value function turns that into a number.

(My change to en-US/$ is only because I can't easily type a pound sign)

Thanks Andy,

I'll try that next time and report the result.
