Gallery with Lookup column

So I have an unusual situation (when don't I?, unusual could be my middle name).

I have a gallery in a customized SharePoint form which will be populated with items from a SharePoint lookup column.   Here is where the really unusual part comes in.

I need to filter it based on a column in the lookup list since SharePoint doesn't give you any filtering options when creating a lookup column.   The column the filter is based on is a choice column in the source list.

I know I had done this before in InfoPath, which means absolutely nothing here, but I can't figure out the syntax.

Main list:  Pending Issues

Secondary Source list: CMUniversalSupportData (This is the source list for the lookup column in PendingIssues and for the gallery in the form)

Gallery data source (before filtering):  Choices(PendingIssues.'EMEA Org(s)')

Is this possible?

I need to filter on:  "EMEA Org(s)" being in the DataType column in CMUniversalSupportData

You started me on the right path, but I ended up using this:

Filter(
Choices(PendingIssues.EMEAOrg),
Value in Filter(CMUniversalSupportData, "EMEAOrg" in DataType.Value).Title
)

Hi @JR-BejeweledOne ,

You can use the lookup value like below -
LookUp(Table11,ID=1).ID

See the reference how, I used, even you can use the multiple lookups if you want.
