Gallery with date columns

Hello Community,

I hope everyone is well.

I am developing a dashboard which I want to show me the assists according to selected parameters.

I am connecting my dashboard to two sharepoint lists, these lists have the following structure:

In the SessionMetaData list I have:

Title: unique field
ClassId: class identifier (team ID in Microsoft Teams)
LessonDate: class date
StartTime / EndTime: start time and end time of the class
ClassName: Class name (team in Microsoft Teams)
TeacherEmailAlias: email of the teacher who takes the attendance.

In the AttendanceRecord list:

Title: unique field
LessonId: Code of the sessionMetaData list (with whom I relate both lists)
LessonDate: date of attendance.
Attendance: I save the student's attendance (present, absent, late, excused)
StudentEmail: student's email.
Notes: a comment.
AttendanceTakenBy: name of the teacher taking attendance.
ClassId: class identifier (team ID in Microsoft Teams).
StartTime / EndTime: start time and end time of the class.
StudentName: name of the student.
ClassName: Name of the class (team in Microsoft Teams).

I require to display the information like this:

The problem is in how to generate the columns of the dates, since they are going to vary depending on the class.

Please have any idea how to display the information.

I haven't forgotten you.  I have your post up on my screen (and have for some time now). I need a little "focus time" to re-read through all of our thread and see what I can discover to offer as a solution, or if I have any other questions.  I usually do "tab closing" toward the end of the week and into the weekend.  That is when I focus on all of the messages I have open so that I respond or check in. Actually, because you wished me a Happy New Year, I decided to move your tab up in my list...lol,  not really, just felt like I should review this now.  And, by the way, Happy New Year to you also.

So it looks like we left off with considering Title over ClassID to group by.   I am not sure if that would be what you want as your Title column in the SessionMetaData has the value that links to the AttendanceRecord Title

It doesn't make a difference to the formula if you group by Title or ClassID, but again, not sure that is what you ultimately want.

BUT, I say the above only because I am a little confused then on the distinction between the Title and the ClassID.  I know the Title columns tie the two lists together, but perhaps I am not getting (from the sessionMetaData) what is the unique identifier.  I had assumed that the Title was a unique class.

But, to further jumble my brain (not too hard to do), you mention "so that in this way, the internal gallery can show the number of classes:"  I am not sure what that means.  There is not accommodation for multiple classes in the Gallery.  Or at least I did not design around that based on your initial picture of what you wanted for the gallery.

Let me know what you think based on the above.

The relationship between SessionMetaData and AttendanceRecord is done through the TITLE field of the SessionMetaData list.

In SessionMetaData it is like TITLE.

In AttendanceRecord it's like LessonId

Note: In AttendanceRecord there is a TITLE field but it has no relation to SessionMetaData. It is a field identifier.

I think we should group by ClassId, because the TITLE in the SessionMetaData list is an identifier, a primary key, instead, ClassId is the identifier of the class, and there can be multiple records of the same class.

Change the field to group to ClassId:

But it does not show the columns with the dates, the attendance is not correct and the last record duplicates it.

Note: Try to put a Filter in the GroupBy of SessionMetaData the following code

It sends a delegation warning and also doesn't let me put the ClassName name to the Dropdown.

Yes, I definitely got the connection with the Session Title and the Attendance LessonId - so that should all be fine.

But here is where things are getting lost - can I assume that the Title in Session is also tied to the ClassId?  In other words, if (made up GUID) 234e34-2344-23ca-bf023922 is in the Title, wouldn't that be repeated in the list for records that referenced the SAME class?  You only provided one un-redacted image of the session list records and it had only one entry shown, so I had to guess a little bit on the relation of the Title GUID and the ClassID and the Class itself.

Now the other thing I see, which is why you're not seeing anything is that you are double grouping...by ClassId and by ClassName.  So, that's going to change the dynamics of what I provided.  And...this goes to my question above - wouldn't there be the Same GUID in ClassId for the Class Name (each class that is different)?

Also, now you are filtering the ClassId by the Session ClassId  - I thought that the connection between the lists was Session.Title and Attendance.LessonID.  If that is the case, then your filter change is not going to produce results.

Let's cross the User().Email filter bridge once we flush out the above issues - that's an easy one to resolve, but let's not confuse things for now.

You know that I had written my answer but it did not come out, it gave an error and just today I realized it, excuse me. Here I send you my answer.

Excuse me, but I screwed up everything. Just that I was trying to display the data to explain myself a little better.

I attach an image where two different classes are registered with different teachers of different dates,
so you can verify how the data is stored.

As for grouping twice, it just tries to have the class name available, so put the ClassName and the ClassId

In relation to the filter of ClassId and _session.ClassId I did it to obtain the data.

In the code you sent me, the drop-down menu shows by title of the SessionMetaData list but consider that there it should show are the classes.

Reviewing the code you sent me, I see that in the SessionMetaData table you have the Title column with several repeated records, which is incorrect, in the SessionMetaData the Title column is a single record. For each assistance taken, a unique record is generated.

In AttendaceRecord, if the LessonId field will be repeated, this being the field inherited from SessionMetaData.

So when I use your code, they don't give me the same results, because the structure of the data source is different.

I have good news for you, I managed to sort the information.

I take hold of your code to adapt it and achieve the desired result, but I would like to ask you a query, I need my dropbox of the classes to be grouped by the ID of the class but to show the name of the class.

Is this possible?

I know that the GroupBy function receives as the third parameter the name of the column for storing record data not found in the column names and I can access these records with

Example: First (ListClass.Selected._records) .ClassName

But properly in the dropbox as I manage to show the name.

Yes, adjust your formula to what I needed; In fact, I started from that formula to work, and of course you have been a great help, I only have one doubt regarding the drpbox of the classes, in that dropbox I group by the ClassId, but I would like the value to be shown in ClassName, there will be way to do this?

I understand that you have been busy with your work, I hope you have been able to solve everything.
