I've created an entity and wanted to use the Get Data function to import from a SQL database. We already have this connection made and it works in canvas PowerApps. When I use the Get Data function, none of our existing connections show up. I tried creating a new connection but I'm getting credential issues when connecting to our SQL db.
Please provide a little more detail for me.
If I understand correctly, are you trying to import data into CDS?
When you select SQL Server from the list of data import connections, you enter your credentials and get an error. What is the error that you are getting? Do you have a gateway installed?
The credential issue isn't my question. How can we select already existing and working credentials when importing into CDS?
So you have credentials inside the app that you want to transfer over to Get Data in the Maker Portal? It doesn't work that way, they are two separate connections.
Do you no longer have access to the SQL credentials used to initially make the app?

Is this a one time data import? I would suggest getting the data from SQL into CSV form and using the import wizard for CDS, which never seems to run into these problems for me. In fact, if I ever need to import to CDS, I always find a way to get my data into CSV and use the wizard, as I've encountered other errors, like missing data when using Get Data.
The wizard can be found by clicking the gear in the Maker Portal and selecting either:
Admin Portal > Environments > Select Your Environment > Settings > Data Management > Data Import Wizard
Advanced Settings > Arrow Next to Settings > Data Management > Imports
Again, your data will need to be in CSV format, and your entities will need to be pre-made in CDS, but I guarantee you won't have import issues.
Unfortunately, no, it is not a one-time import. I'll keep that in mind for other scenarios though.
Have you tried setting up a Dataflow? You might not have the same connection issues there, and then your updates in SQL will carry right over to CDS.
If not, it sounds like you will need to submit a support ticket.
