Get Manager V2 Request

We have encountered some issue related with the flow even using the valid email address.

As googling around, found below link as it mentioned about need of Azure Active Directory in order for the workflow to function properly.

I dont want to used Get Manager since I have conflict with Azure Active Directory. Is there any other ways to overcome this problems ?

Re: Get Manager V2 Request

Hi @Anonymous,

Do you want to use Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) instead of Azure Active Directory?

The Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) is not supported in PowerApps currently, If you want to use Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) instead of Azure Active Directory, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Could you please share a bit more the conflict? Do you mean that you don't want to use the Office 365 Users connector within your flow?

Do you want to get the Manager's profile of the user that you specified?

The error message told that the user (email address) that you specified within the "Get Manager (V2)" action does not have a manager configured in AAD. It is an known limitation of using Office 365 Users connector, please check the following article for more details:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/office365users/#known-issues-and-limitations

If you did't configure a manager in AAD for the specific user, I afraid that there is no way to get the manager's profile for the specific user within Microsoft Flow currently.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Get Manager V2 Request

Dear Kris,

Capture.PNGThis is Flow configuration.Flow.PNG

This is my workflows for my project. I am still new with the Sharepoint, Powerapps and Flow. Basically, my plan is to start with Powerapps for the user input and store the data at sharepoint. Then for approval work flow, I plan to use Flow Apps. Could you advice, how I can integrate with these three apps to make it work ?

Re: Get Manager V2 Request

Hi @Anonymous,

For saving data into SP list using PowerApps app, you could consider take a try to generate an app from your SP list. More details about generating an app from SP list, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/app-from-sharepoint

Please check and see if the following video would help you in your scenario:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnYe_7fpZRM

For creating an approval flow within Microsoft Flow, please check the following article:

Create a approval flow within Microsoft Flow

For triggering a flow from an app, please check the following article:

Start a flow from an app

I think your flow's configuration is proper, but if you did't configured an manager within AAD for the specific user (email address) that you provided within the "Get Manager (V2)" action, the "Get Manager (V2)" action would fail on your side.

Best regards,

Kris
