Get users' roles from users in Dynamics365 subdivisions

Hi everyone,

I have created divisions and roles with Dynamics365 to grant different access to my PowerApps' users.
I can display (with the 'Security Roles' connector) the role of the users who are on the native division but not the one of the users who are in the subdivisions.

Has anyone had the same problem and can therefore help me?

Thank you

Re: Get users' roles from users in Dynamics365 subdivisions

Hi @Aliciaa ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you mean that you could not list the Security Roles under the Child Business Unit of the Root Unit?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The Security Roles under the Child Business Unit of the Root Unit could be displayed well within my app through the "Security Roles" CDS Entity.

Please check if you have been assigned with proper Security Role within your PowerApps Environment. On my side, I have been assigned with "System Administrator" role.

Re: Get users' roles from users in Dynamics365 subdivisions

Hi @v-xida-msft

I will try to explain my problem better.

Indeed with my role "System Administrator", I have access to the display of all security roles like you. With, in red, a role based on the root division and in orange roles which are on subdivisions.

In my PowerApps, I display the role of the user like this ( when it is the role of the users who are on the root unit, it is displayed correctly ) :

Carte_visite.pngdisplay_role

With a global variable (all my costomized roles start with "Grim_")

Set(glo_role;Concat( Filter(
    LookUp(
            Utilisateurs; 'Nom d''utilisateur' = glo_mail_user
            )
            .'Rôles de sécurité (systemuserroles_association)'
    ;StartsWith(Nom;"Grim_"))
; Nom)
);;

When I assign a User to a subdivision ( A child division ) and change its role to "Grim_Lecteur" for example (with Dynamics and Powerapps). The role of the user cannot be displayed.

Do you think this is a problem related to my Set function ?

Best regards.
