Getting the Error 'Membership couldn't be found' in Form Edit Mode for Person or Group Column on SharePoint List.

So I have Person or Group column on SharePoint list that allow Multiple Selection.

In my PowerApp the Update property of the datacard is as below

ForAll(
    DataCardValue165.SelectedItems,
    {
        '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
        Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & ThisRecord.Mail,
        Department: "",
        DisplayName: ThisRecord.DisplayName,
        Email: ThisRecord.Mail,
        JobTitle: "",
        Picture: ""
    }
)

The Item property of the Datacard is as below

indhaa_0-1626764691836.png

I'm getting this error during Edit mode. I tested with the same users. Add the users successful, but in Edit mode, same users (testing without changing the users) I'm getting below error.

It didn't work like that too

The above code is in the Update Property and NOT in the Defaultselecteditems property.

@indhaa

i could replicate your situation.

But for me it happens if i open an existing record and try to submit it back.

and the people (that come with the existing record, not newly added) were not selected in the combobox options.

what is in your form.Item?

Hi Alex,

Yes you are correct. They are not selected in the default datacard, In the top part they are selected but in the scroll part they are not.

indhaa_0-1626845793655.png

Anyway I was testing and added another Combobox to this datacard. In this combobox everything is selected and I'm trying to use this to send the update. But still no success, same error. So it might not be the reason for the issue?

@indhaa

in my testing case that was the only reason of that error.

As I did not get the source for your form.items, pretend it is gallery.selected:

combobox.defaultselecteditems =

ForAll(gallery.selected.peopleColumn As ThisGuy,
First(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: ThisGuy.Email}))
)

Hi

My item  property is like this

Filter(
    Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: DataCardValue165.SearchText}),
    !IsBlank(JobTitle) && !IsBlank(Mail) && !IsBlank(Department)
)

Do I need to change my Update property as well.

ForAll(
   DataCardValue165.SelectedItems,
    {
        '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
        Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & ThisRecord.Mail,
        Department: "",
        DisplayName: ThisRecord.DisplayName,
        Email: ThisRecord.Mail,
        JobTitle: "",
        Picture: ""
    }
)

I think the issue is due to the code on the Update property since I was having issue even with the new comb box, even when everything was selected on it. Hope you are right,

Let me know if I need to change the Item and Update property

@indhaa

have you tested with changing defaultselecteditems with the code i posted?

the problem is that SP list returns people records with columns: Claims, DisplayName, Email, etc;
while Office365user returns different columns: Mail (not Email), UPN, etc.

so for the existing people we have Email returned and when patch back Mail is empty.

Hi,

Sorry I'm having a trouble setting your code.

So my Form item property is set as below

indhaa_0-1626949077070.png

How do I update your code to reflect that.

I tried like below and getting below errors

ForAll(ThisItem.RestrGroupLookup.Email as ThisGuy,
First(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: ThisGuy.Email}))
)

indhaa_3-1626952729782.png

ForAll(ThisItem.RestrGroupLookup as ThisGuy,
First(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: ThisGuy.Email}))
)

indhaa_2-1626952603798.png

ForAll(ThisItem.RestrGroupLookup,
First(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: ThisGuy.Email}))
)

you mentioned that you 'have Person or Group column on SharePoint list that allow Multiple Selection'.
So FirewallAccess.RestrGroupLookup is that datatype column?
if no, there is something missing in the info that you provided.

Sorry for the late reply.

Yah FirewallAccess is the SP List name and RestrGroupLookup is the column name

Hi

So I did this

I changed my datacard item property from Office365 to SP Choice column. Update from Mail to Email everywhere and now it is working

indhaa_0-1627034712563.png

indhaa_1-1627034794683.png

Now the only issue is my dropdown doesn't show any result. Only with search it is prompting the name. Any idea how to show in the dropdown some values
