Global variable .... new syntax

Few days ago I just realized that we finally have global variable in PA. I'm just curious why there is completely new syntax for global (Set) and private (UpdateContext)? I know it is already too late to discuss it or change it. My opinion is that people with no knowledge what is global and what is private variable will chose the easiest way (which is Set function) even if they don't have to. Wouldn't be better to have same syntax and instead of Set and UpdateContext, use UpdateGlobal and UpdateContext for example? That is just my thoughts. Most important is that we have global variables here finally

Hi @v-monli-msft

Thank you for your Copy-Paste answer and I'm really sorry for not being enough clear in my question. I was thinking that the reason why we have different syntax could be because there are differences between local and global variable apart from being global and local. Maybe global variable can do more or it can do less then local variable, maybe you have plans for the global variable to do more then local variable, maybe you had different plans with it so you made that syntax different. If there are any differences between these variables apart from being global and local then I think it might be useful to know that so we can use it better in our apps!!

I don't think changing the syntax now is good idea. I don't know how long the global variable is in PA so changing it would probably makes some users not very happy. But don't worry, if I'll have a NEW idea I will definitely post it in that "wish well". I already know about it
