GroupBy In Nested Galleries

Hello,

All Versions that came after Version 3.21123.25 caused few issues here and there that were addressed in other posts, but one of the issues that still not fixed yet is the GroupBy Function in nested galleries that were built prior to version 3.21123.25.
It seems that the Galleries display has been changed somehow from what it used to be. 

I've done some tests to find out why galleries, using GroupBy in the Item field, are displaying blank display (although all fields in the galleries have value, but only the display is blank).

After playing a little with those galleries, i found out that the galleries will briefly display everything once the GroupBy Column is manually changed into a new name, but this work around doesn't count because the blank display issue will happed again after refreshing the page or navigating to another page.

The Workaround that worked perfect so far is to create a new gallery while in the new Version (Higher than 3.21123.25) then copy everything from the old galleries to the new. Everything will display perfect.

Can you please provide an example of your GroupBy formula, and where you are seeing the blank value instead of any actual value?

This is what I'm using in the Main Gallery Items


SortByColumns(
GroupBy(
Filter(COLLECTION1, Column1 in ComboBox.SelectedItems || IsEmpty(ComboBox.SelectedItems) ),
"Column5","NewColumn5"),
"Column5",Ascending)

and this is what I'm using in the nested gallery Items


ThisItem.NewColumn5

The Values are not blank, because i can add the same formula without any changes to other labels or galleries and they will display fine. The issue is the display, it is like if the galleries have transparent color on everything.



FYI, This behaviors only happens with App in Versions higher than 3.21123.25.
Other copy of the App is still working like it was (Same formulas and galleries), because it is still on Version  3.21123.25

Thanks for clarifying.  I am not able to reproduce the issue however.  Is there anything special about your galleries (regular vs. variable-height? DelayItemLoading enabled or disabled?), your datasource (Dataverse? SP? collection from one of the previous?), your app theme(?),  your environment (standalone? Teams embedded? custom page?).

 

Even better--are you able to provide a minimal repro of an .msapp that opens fine in 3.21123 or earlier, but not in 3.21124 or later?

Both galleries are regular.

DelayItemLoading is disabled. Datasource is SP. And yes, the main gallery items is a collection from a SP List. App theme is just a basic theme selected from what is offered in the studio (gray theme).  Environment is standalone. App is using just regular pages (screens) all over.

 

 

If you are asking to provide a report of .msapp? Could you please direct me on how to generate it? If that was an exported .msapp file of the App, sorry i won't be able to provide that.

Are they any updates on this topic?
I have made too many tests on making a copy of an App that is working perfect, while in Version 3.21123.25, and moving it to any Version higher than 3.21123.25.
The Galleries issue happens right away.
It is clear to me that something has been changed on your end with Versions updates in the galleries refreshing/loading/resetting behaviors.

 

Can you please help escalating this to the responsible teams to help with further looking at the issue?


This issue is happening with one of my in production Apps that is being used by over 500 users Globally. I cannot make any updates to the published App since i know the App will be automatically pushed to the new Version and this will break the App.

@PTadrous We have been able to identify the issue and have begun deploying a fix.  It should be available this week with Studio version 3.22022.  Depending on your region, you may need to manually choose this version it from Settings -> Support -> Authoring version -> Edit.  I will post a direct link as well once it becomes available.

@PTadrous Studio version 3.22022 should now be available, depending on your region, either directly or via the version selector in Settings -> Support:
