Guest accounts not found using Office365Users.SearchUser or Office365Users.SearchUserV2

I have Guest accounts and don't appear to be found using Office365Users.SearchUser or Office365Users.SearchUserV2 or using

Office365Users.UserProfile(ThisItem.Requestor)

Office365Users.UserProfileV2(ThisItem.Requestor)

I got it to work.  Yay.

The function is supposed to lookup the UPN which for a guest looks different than regular users.  I switched from storing the UPN to storing the Mail address.  Now Search finds the guest.  I guess the lookup is really looking at the email address or the WindowsEmailAddress and not the UPN.

Guest users by definition don't have user profiles and that is what Office365Users connector is checking.  To find guest users you would need to use the AzureAD connector and that requires admin priveledges.

Try this:

Office365Users.SearchUser{searchTerm: ThisItem.Requestor}

The suggestion didn't work.  Still not found.  I understand that there is no profile to speak of.  But also 'there must be a profile'!  How do I lookup a guest if there isn't one.

I'll switch to using a People Picker field to see if that fixes it.  Just another bug in PowerApps that really shouldn't be there.

If anyone else has a way to lookup guest account details it would be nice.  Right now it's just another PowerApps fail.

As I said in my reply.  Guest users don't have profiles.  You need to look guest users up in Azure AD, not in SharePoint profiles.  And just because it doesn't work the way you want it to doesn't mean its a bug.  Guest users have never had profiles in SharePoint.

Bug / Shortcomming / Pain In the Rear call it what you want.

I added a people field and the guest users do not show up.

So are guest users supported at all in PowerApps?

I have been told repeatedly yes but then again it DOESN"T WORK!!!!

So really a BUG or a flat out LIE.

Please can you tell me what you mean by Use Azure and Not Sharepoint?

I'm using Azure as far as I can tell.  Everything is online.

Actually, Its neither a Bug or a Lie.  Support for Guest users is to be able to RUN Power Apps, not a guarantee that they will be reflected in every data source.  SharePoint profiles have never included guest users.

You are trying to use the Office365users connection, which uses User profiles as a data source.

For guest users the only place you will find a record of them is Azure Active Directory.  But as I mentioned the problem with that as a data source is that you need to be an admin to access it.

It just seems odd that I can't setup a drop down and have a guest account show up in it and put it into a list and so on.

Why isn't this simple idea possible?
