I am trying to hid the section highlighted below, but was not able to find the option for that.
In another older D365 Sales app, the external consultants have already done it, therefore I was hoping it is possible to do it here too.

I have to admit, this one is bizarre 😋.
To solve this issue, please do the following:
Open the classic form editor and select this option(see screenshot) save and publish.
The uncheck the same checkbox, sav and publish again. that should remove the alphabetical index.
