Hide some of my gallery items

Hello everyone,

I have a gallery of IT products that my coworkers can look at and then order.

However, I have some special products that only a few people in my organization are allowed to purchase.

How can I make these special items only visible by the concerned people ?

Thanks for you help.

Arman

The answer to that depends on where you are getting the gallery items from.  If they are stored in SharePoint then the easiest way would be to adjust the permissions on those special items so that only some people have access to them.  That will automatically keep others from seeing them in the gallery since the view is security trimmed.

If they are stored in something like Excel that doesn't support item level permissions then I would add another column to the Excel Table and use that to filter out the special items in some way based on the current user.

Hello @Pstork1.
I didn't think about SharePoint permissions.

I guess my problem is solved.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Arman.
