Highlight if information is in SharePoint list already

Hi folks, I have a query similar to vinimedina91's on How to check if item already exists in SharePoint', the difference being I just want something to appear if the text typed into an input box is already on the SP list. I've tried something simple on an icon's visibility:

If(phonenumber.Text in NO.Phoneno,true,false)

The app has taken it but I've typed in a number that's already saved and it's not shown.

In PhoneNumber control's onChange property,

Set(varShowIcon, If(self.Text in NO.Phoneno,true,false) )

Use the variable varShowIcon in the visible property of the Icon.

You need to set default value of the variable as false on screen load or app load.

Give a try and post your comments.

On the Visible property of your Icon, set the following formula:

   LookUp(yourDataSource, Phoneno = phoneNumber.Text, true)

I hope this is helpful for you.
