How do I build Powerapps for someone else?

Hello, I am curious as to how I would be able to make powerapps for a client. What would be the best ways to go about this if anyone has experience in doing this. Would it be best to work in my own environment and then just share the app with them? Or would it be best to have them setup an account for me in theirs?

Let me know what you think!

Hi@Max1234,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, do you want to create an App for others and make them have full access?

Could you please share a bit more about the scenario:

  1. Is this App for the client who is totally an external user based on your organization?
  2. Does this client need full access to the App?

For convenience, you could create the App in your own tenant, then save the app locally to your computer which would generate a .msapp file. This .msapp file can then be opened in the client's tenant and saved to the cloud in their tenant.

However, if you want to create the App within your environment, you should pay attention to the permission for the data source.

Take SharePoint for instance, even though you have configured your connection to a SharePoint site using your credentials, the app will still use the consumer/end-user permissions to access the data while they are running the app. Some connection types are shareable, but SharePoint Online requires each user to bring their own connection.

Please make sure you have shared proper permission ("Read Only" permission at least) of your SP List/Library to these end-users, then these end-users could be able to access your SP List/Library data source from this shared app.

Hi @Max1234 ,

An account on their tenant would be the easiest for their users to test.
