How do I get data from one field to populate into desination field ONLY if the desination field is empty?

I have an app that automatically times how long a user is on the apps edit screen. There is a need for the users to go back to that screen to update info and I need the timers data to be added to the form without overwriting it.  I created a "timebox" that records the timer data automatically from the time the edit screen is opened to the time it is closed and it works well. However, if the record is opened again, the timer is reset to zero and will overwrite the first time. (AutoPause is enabled, but navigating to a new record resets the timer.) I wanted to solve this by adding a field that will automatically grab the data in the "timebox" and record that information only if it is empty so when the timebox resets to zero, the original value is kept and the new timebox values are added to a total time formula (sharepoint list automatically adds these two fields together for a total)

How do I get data from one field to populate into desination field ONLY if the desination field is empty?

Re: How do I get data from one field to populate into desination field ONLY if the desination field is empty?

Hi @MuralSPadminAU ,

Does the DataCardValue27 represents the desination field in your Edit form?

Do you submit your form data back to your data source using SubmitForm function?

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:

Set the Default property of DataCardValue27 in your Edit form to following:

If(
   IsBlank(ThisItem.DestinationField),
   Sum(ThisItem.SourceField, ThisItem.DestinationField)
)

Note: I assume that you want to save data from the SourceField into the DestinationField in your data source.

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

I have tried updating context with:

If(IsBlank(DataCardValue27), Sum(DataCardValue26,DataCardValue27)

I was missing the ParenClose at the end. It works like a charm now.
