How do I rename a field on a form to match the name on the SharePoint list?

I am building my first app and after creating a SharePoint list I decided to rename some fields. However on my app the old field names still appear on my form even though I have refreshed the link and saved all and exited and re-entered. Is there any way I can update the field names on my form?

Hi,

I just got the update from the team. The issue is how the name bindings is done in the Form control. The names of columns are statically bound when the card is generated. This is a known limitation in PowerApps Studio and the workaround is to disable the column from the Form’s option panel and enable it again.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Mona

Hi paNewby,

I just tested in my PowerApps and ended up with the same result. I will try to report this to the product team, and I will get back to you once I got any update.

Thanks Mona. I thought once you disabled a column from the option panel you couldn't enable it again. I will try, but at any rate, now that I know I can work with it. Thanks

Is there a specific order for disabling the field in the Display Mode properties and renaming the field label? I tried disabling the field, renaming it and then enabling the display property back to "Display" and when I publish my app the field names still do not change.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @v-monli-msft,

I was able to reproduce this problem as well, but your solution did not work. I was however able to successfully update the "Display Name" property of the Data Card at which point the field label values save correctly.
