How to Enter manually in Address Input Form. When I enter manually which is not in the address list it shows blank in Sharepoint.

Hi,

I just realized in the Address Input Form.

address input form .png

When I try to put the address manually which is not in the address book. It shows blank in the sharepoint list. Is there any thing I have to do or it is not allowed with this Address input feature?

Hi @Anonymous ,

1. For the first code, using which property depends on your actual need. I just give you an example to save the .Country value. So for you, the formula should be like this(Yours is correct):

If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.FreeformAddress),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.FreeformAddress)

2. Title is another column which is the default required column in SharePoint list, so we need to give it a value when using Patch function.

We can use a static Title value or give it a dynamic value by using a TextInput control.
For test purpose, I will use a static value this time, so the formula of Submit button should be like this

(customerAddress_DataCard1 is the DataCard name, we don't need to use this name, we need to use the control name: AddressInput1):

Patch('Ascent building solutions',Defaults('Ascent building solutions'),{
Title:"testaddress",
customerAddress:If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.FreeformAddress),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.FreeformAddress)
})

Best regards,

Allen

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can use fomula like this when the entered address is not in address list(if the address did in address list, I will use its country value):

If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.Country),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.Country)

So when save to SP, the patch formula can be like this:

Patch(listname,Defaults(listname),{Title:DataCardValue1.Text,
Adress1:If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.Country),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.Country)
})

Hi @v-albai-msft ,

I am assuming for the code:

If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.Country),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.Country)

 I have to put this in Default property of the AddressInput1.

I have set this up as AddressInput1.Freeformaddress instead of .Country

And about the Second code:

I am assuming I have to put that in Submit Button on OnSelect property:

Patch(listname,Defaults(listname),{Title:DataCardValue1.Text,
Adress1:If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.Country),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.Country)
})

So My DataCard looks like;

1.png

And my list name is: "AscentBuildingSolution"

Patch('Ascent building solutions',Defaults('Ascent building solutions'),{customerAddress:customerAddress_DataCard1,customerAddress:If(IsBlank(AddressInput1.FreeformAddress),AddressInput1.UserInput, AddressInput1.FreeformAddress)

I didn't quite get what "Title" means. So the column name for the input is "customerAddress". And also

Title:DataCardValue1.Text

I can't see option for .Text on my end. And the options available are:

Options:
BorderColor, BorderStyle, BorderThickness, DataField, Default, DisplayName, DisplayMode, Error, Fill, Height, MaxLength, Required, Update, Valid, Visible, Width, Widthfit, X, Y.

Hi @v-albai-msft ,

I guess I will use the bing map. It's not premium and saves some bucks as well.

Hi @v-albai-msft ,

I went through the formula of patch function. But I am confused about the "Title". So I have a mandatory Field CustomerName. And what should I put the value? I have randomly done the value for CustomerName.

When I try to pass manual entry, it shows the previous address instead of accepting the manual entry.

Hi @v-albai-msft ,

IT's working now. Thank you so much. I will create a new Threat for an issue.

As I have toggle for Same as Site address. When on Change it's showing the address that is .freeform but it doesn't show the user input manual address.

What can be the workaround. I will tag you in my new thread for this.

Thank you

Hi @v-albai-msft ,

So the patch function is working but it is passing two empty inputs in the gallery history as shown in the picture.
